Service Delivery

In addition to our reactive ‘call-out’ activities, we also undertake a complete range of routine repairs, new installations, high-pressure jetting, CCTV surveys and planned preventative programmes. Our team of experienced Surveyors and Contracts Managers provide recommendations, specifications and quotations together with the day to day on-site management of all larger projects. At Powerrod, our knowledge and experience of working within Care premises and Nurseries is matched only by our envied reputation for quality, service and value.

We know that every maintenance problem in Healthcare Property or a Nursery causes a potential hazard or lost facility and can easily disrupt the efficient operation of the premises. That’s why we provide an ‘immediate’ reactive service for emergencies, and never waste a second in responding to an urgent call. All our engineers and technicians have vehicles fitted with ‘on board’ monitoring systems and are in permanent communication with our Helpdesk. This ensures that the nearest appropriate engineer is identified and can provide an efficient and effective response to your request.

Our recruitment and training policy has been instrumental in producing a workforce of the highest calibre and integrity. As well as being proficient in their own discipline, our engineers are also able to offer multi-skilled assistance (within strict safety and operational parameters) to minimize on site disruption and cost. For those complicated situations requiring a ‘conference call’ discussion between client, contractor and engineer, we are able to provide digital photographs emailed from site to facilitate a rapid resolution to the problem. From their smart liveried vehicles and distinctive workwear, to their security conscious ID cards, you will always recognise a Powerrod Team.

Customer Satisfaction

In addition to individual customer requirements, we always prepare a PowerRod “Satisfaction Note” on the completion of every site visit, for endorsement by local management. It details all work completed, and the time spent, both on site and sourcing materials. We also contact at least 10% of sites after completion to audit customer satisfaction with our response time, our engineers, and the quality of their work.

All work is guaranteed and in the unlikely event that our service or workmanship give cause for concern, we are committed to ensuring the resolution of the problem to your entire satisfaction. Our success has been built on repeat business, and we seek to ensure your total satisfaction with any work undertaken.

Key Performance Indicators

Following each site visit, customers can be notified of full or part completion by phone, fax or e-mail, to enable KPI’s and job closures to be monitored. Daily or weekly completion schedules are also available from our bespoke Job Tracker system, to meet individual customer requirements. If the specified work cannot be completed within an approved job limit, it is our policy to always ‘make safe’, and where necessary, provide an urgent report and quotation for any additional work.

In conjunction with individual customers, we endeavour to agree a detailed price schedule and job value limit for all “call-out” maintenance, thus ensuring that there are no unpleasant surprises when the invoice arrives. We don’t aim to be the cheapest, but we do aim to be the best, providing a consistently superlative service at a highly competitive price.

To match the requirements of the Care and Nursery Sectors, we provide an effective out of hours emergency service to solve problems as and when they occur and minimize disruption to site staff and customers. Assistance is available from our Duty Manager simply by calling our normal daytime Helpdesk number.

Health & Safety Compliance

All our engineers and technicians adhere to a disciplined and uniform procedure before undertaking any work. Where appropriate, a Method Statement is prepared, together with Risk Assessments of any potential hazards associated with the task. Of primary concern, is the safety of site staff and the general public together with the protection of our own personnel. In the event that any toxic substances are involved in the procedures, a full COSHH Assessment is also completed. All our work practices are approved by SafeContractor, meet the stringent requirements of the Powerrod Health & Safety Policy and conform to current legislation.

“During the last few years, we have undertaken emergency work, repairs and refurbishment at a number of our centres in London and the South East. During this time I have always found Powerrod to be helpful, efficient and the work undertaken to be of a high standard.
I have no hesitation in recommending them to others and indeed will continue to use their services at our own premises.
